Steve is a political adviser and former private sector senior executive, policy creator, change management consultant, business manager and public servant who is continuing a lifelong commitment to the mitigation of the environmental impact of humans.
Steve is currently Senior Adviser Environment & Sustainable Development to Simon Corbell MLA, Minister for Environment & Sustainable Development in the Government of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Australia.
Steve specialises in climate change & environmental policy development & implementation. His focus is on solar & other renewable energy technologies, intelligent distributed energy networks, energy efficiency & conservation measures and especially – the social, political, economic and regulatory implications of global warming and the sustainability of the biosphere.
Steve’s mantra for solar & other renewables is ‘deployment, deployment, R&D, deployment!’. We have the means to deal with climate change, we simply need the will.

Bill Parker has pursued a career that spans both the academic and business sectors. He is trained in bacteriology and is currently a director of a biotechnology company in Perth. His broad interest in solar energy and its applications began in the late 1980s with establishment of a solar energy information centre in Perth. He took on the role of director and manager of the centre. He became involved with AuSES (then ANZSES) at that time and later became the editor of the society’s magazine “Solar Progress”, a role he still actively pursues. He has been an owner builder of a passive solar house and looks forward to the day when all homes are entirely energy self sufficient.

Glen Morris
Through his business SolarQuip, Glen Morris has been installing renewables both on and off the grid for over 20 years. Glen consulters for the CEC, is a member of their Standards Training and Accreditation Committee, is a member of Standards Australia EL-042 Committee, teaches renewables at various TAFES, is a board member of AuSES, and has been a system auditor for both the CEC and NZ Government. Glen has lived off grid for the past 20 years – currently at one of Australia’s oldest intentional communities in the Yarra Ranges near Melbourne.

Andrew Dyer is Chairman of the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman Council and serves on a number of boards including the Transport Accident Commission, BrightSource Energy Australia, The Good Foundation and the American Australian Association. He also serves on advisory boards for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Richmond Football Club and the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute at Monash University. Andrew has held executive roles in the utilities, technology and professional services industries, based in both Australia and overseas. He is also the past Victorian Commissioner to the Americas, facilitating trade and investment between Victoria and North & South America. A former McKinsey & Co consultant, Andrew holds a Bachelor of Engineering with first class honours from Monash University and an MBA from Georgetown University in Washington DC.

It has been my privilege to serve on the AuSES Board of Directors for the past two years. I am also currently the President of the Queensland Branch of AuSES, a position that I have held for the past three years. I have been closely involved with the efficient use of energy for much of my professional life. For the past decade, I have been a passionate advocate of renewable energy and for the need to control and reduce global carbon emissions. My qualifications include being a Fellow of Australian Institute of Company Directors as well as Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Chemical Engineering Degrees from the University of Queensland. Outside of my time spent on AuSES matters, I am currently employed in a business development role involving deployment of medium to larger scale solar power systems into the Commercial, Industrial, Utilility and Government sectors.
Prior to my current role, I consulted to businesses that were engaged in commercialising new technologies, novel products and services.
From 2001 till 2004, I was the Managing Director of AGR Science and Technology Pty. Ltd (now trading as AGR Industries). I have also held a range of management & executive roles within Industrial Galvanizers Corporation.

Simon Franklin is a Project Manager with IT Power (Australia). He has over 5 years experience in the Australian energy section, working on large and commercial scale grid-connected PV systems, hybrid off-grid power stations, financial modelling, PV market analysis and PV system performance modelling. Prior to joining IT Power he was an Electrical Engineer with Connell Wagner during which time he undertook project management, electrical design and risk management work on a number of rail infrastructure and defence projects. Mr Franklin has also worked with the Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies, investigating the feasibility of carbon capture and storage technologies.
